Vacation charter packages (air+hotel) are typically your best bet for your best price for a Vegas vacation. Whether going with a charter package or booking a flight on a commercial airline, keep in mind that much of the cost depends on your point of origin, and driving to a larger airport an hour or two away could save you a lot on the price of a package or airline ticket.

If your looking for a package for a "long weekend", choosing a package with a Saturday departure and Monday return will often be cheaper (sometimes significantly cheaper) than a package with the more traditional Friday departure and Sunday return. For longer stays, choosing packages that don't include the higher-priced Friday and Saturday night hotel stays may also lower your package cost.

Travelocity is by far the best way to go in making your travel arrangements (of course we are bias). Search for your Travelocity flight above to start your travel plans right now.

How to Travel

If you are flying to Las Vegas, or anywhere else, it's a good idea to keep anything that you're really going to need with you. A small carry on bag can be a conveinient way to carry those items - confirmation numbers, medication, phone numbers, etc. That way in the event that your baggage is lost or delayed it won't result in a major problem to start your vacation. At McCarran baggage area security has been completely eliminated. So don't delay in getting to the baggage claim area after arriving. One thing you should have with you in Las Vegas is a watch or timepiece, since clocks in casinos are scarce. It might be nice to see a casino break precedent by adding clocks, but don't hold your breath. I suggest that you pick up any free Las Vegas magazines that are being given out in the downstairs area just outside the baggage claim. Once easy to find, a bit more effort is required now, and to find "What's On" which is the best of the bunch you may have to look on one of the rent-a-car counters. These free magazines are a valuable source of addresses, phone numbers, maps, coupons, show listings, etc. Not only do these freebies rival some of the Las Vegas travel books, but their info is up to date. Auto rental lobbies are now the best place to find these publications, which used to be easily found at the airport. At the rental car places you'll see bins of 4 by 9 inch cards offering various deals and coupons. These are well worth checking out, and in many cases you may not find the information or offers elsewhere. If you're not renting a car, you'll have reading time while you take the shuttle bus to your hotel. I'd go for the shuttle over a cab, since the shuttles are convenient and inexpensive. If you are a valued customer at one of the hotel/casinos, you might want to ask if they offer transportation to and from the airport. When you're headed home from Las Vegas try to get a window seat on the right side of the plane for a great view of the Strip, which is especially nice at night. As for the weather, the average temperature in Las Vegas June through August is over 100, so it might be better to pass up those bargain room rates than risk it being reallyhot. In July, 2005 it hit 117. Although room rates used to be very low in those months, the World Series of Poker has been moved up, and you won't see cheap room rates while that event is going on. The other months are pretty much what you'd expect: December through February is cold. March through May is moderate. September and October are warm, and November is moderate.

Bellagio - The Fountain Show

Every 15 minutes the most spectacular FREE SHOW on the Las Vegas Strip happens in front of the famous Bellagio Hotel and Casino. Directly accross the street from the Paris Hotel and Casino on the fabulous Las Vegas Strip, the Bellagio Fountain Show is a fantastic Vegas Attraction. Many visitors who Travel to Las Vegas catch the show from atop the 200ft reproduction of the Eifel Tower- Vegas Style. This in itself is a Las Vegas Attraction that is dwarfted only by the very close Hoover Damn.

The Bellagio was made famous in the movie Ocean's Eleven when Brad Pitt and George Clooney pulled off a fomouse hiest in the movie. Originally the stomping ground of the Rat Pack, featuring Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Frank Sinatra, the Las Vegas Strip is an attraction as big as the Vegas Casinos and Vegas Hotels itself.

Vegas Casinos

If the thousands of shows and attractions aren't what brings you to Las Vegas then it is certainly the Vegas Casino. Millions of people travel to Vegas each year to try their luck at casinos such as Ceasars Palace, the MGM Grand, Harrahs, the Bellagio, the Luxor, the Flamingo just to name a few. It seems like each year a new multi-billion dollar property is being constructed on the world famous Vegas Strip. Not to be left out, Donald Trump is building a double-tower Vegas Hotel and Casino on the Vegas Strip that has been promised to make the Hoover Damn look tiny. In typical Trump style we can only imagine that the level of Las Vegas Shows will also be taken to a level unprecidented in Sin City.
